| Day 1 - Arrive in Anchorage (5/13)
We left West Palm Beach, FL at 12:45 with stops at Atlanta and Salt Lake. Our Atlanta connecting flight was about 1/2 hour late. A lightning storm caused the ground operations to be suspended. Then a woman slipped and fell in the leaky concourse. The paramedics were called and another delay. By the time we got out to the runway, there were 35 other delayed airplanes in front of us. We ended up being two hours late out of Atlanta. We arrived in Anchorage about 11pm. Our friends Jim and Melody put us up for the night. They have a lovely condo that overlooks Cook Inlet. We saw some bald eagles from their living room window. |
